Tooth Whitening

In-office (chairside) whitening allows your dentist to supervise the process — and your progress — more closely.

In the case of surface discoloration, we first remove the plaque, the tartar, and polish the surface of the teeth with a sandblast to obtain a clean surface for whitening.

A gel applied to the outer surface of the teeth than illuminated by a lamp that activates the agent in the gel and the released active oxygen will evenly remove the discoloration from the hard tissues of our teeth.

This treatment with the preparations takes about 1.5 hours. Following the preparations, there is an illumination with a UV lamp of 2 x 20 minutes. Some patients may experience increased tooth sensitivity during the procedure, but this will be cease within 1-2 days of treatment.

The durability of teeth whitening depends mostly on lifestyle! After 2-3 days of treatment, no product containing any coloring agents is recommended, otherwise the effectiveness of whitening can not be guaranteed.
