Dental prosthesis – fixed dentures – preparations

Crowns and bridges provide fix dentures which are usually needed after root canal treatment when the cavity is large in size or there is a risk of infection or the inner area of the tooth is damaged. If crown is provided after root canal treatment the dentist places a pin in the treated tooth. It is necessary when the cavity is too large in size or the tooth is damaged and there is a big missing part of the tooth. The pin can fix the crown to its place. The pin can be made of stainless steel in advance which the dentist places int he root canal or the dentist can use individual pin which is made by dental technician in order to correctly fit in the shape of the prepared root canal. The pin will be placed in the root canal so it will be able to fix the crown to its place.
